About Piper St Sound. Piper Street Sound is the production moniker of Matt Gregg Mansfield. Matt is a musician from Atlanta, Georgia, that has been involved in many projects and bands, his focus is dub inspired bass lines and live effects manipulation. He plays with DubConscious, Flight Risk and Dialect Trio.

Piper Street Sound is a concept and collective of musical energies which is also an imprint and studio.

This imprint and idea is based at 899 Piper St. Studios and utilizes the powers of the Piper St All-Stars.

This amorphous musical force creates diverse dub imbued music with influences ranging from Jungle to Cuban Son to Experimental music and Hip Hop, all the various strands connected by the production style of Matt Gregg: distinctly paranoiac and surreal, a style heavily in debted to the dub engineering of the 1970's and to sampler based music of the 1980's and 90's, but with an incorporation of completly various musical traditions from all over the world. Piper St Sound is a constantly evolving project and seeks to dialogue with all forms of sound. The backing group of musicians used at any point for a Piper St. production, is a constantly changing and evolving set of amazing musicians drawn from the Athens and Atlanta music scenes. Usually Matty holds down the bass.
